Hello everybody! :)
My post of these two weeks is dedicated to the workshops we did last Tuesday with children from the school Daoiz y Velarde.
The class was divided in different groups and we had to create a workshop (different in each group) related with a famous fairy tale. The main objectives we had were: to let children know about the story and to let them retell the story.
The different workshops were: Aladdin, Snow White, Hercules, Alice in wonderworld, Three Little Pigs and Cinderella. I belonged to the last one, so I am going to tell you what we did.
First of all I want you to know who were my partners: Alberto S., Alberto Z., Edu, Rebeca, Nuria, Lenka, Martina and Tatiana.
As you can see in the picture Alberto S. is missed. He is not in the picture because he was our fairy. Each group had a person who was in charge of a group of children. His job was to care children, to go with them to each workshop and to help them if they need somthing.
Now you know my partners I am going to tell you what we did.
To develop the activity we crated 5 books like this one.
In each book children can find the story of Cinderella but with some changes. For example, Cinderella didn't lose a shoe but a trainer.
We decided to create only 5 books because as children were in groups of 9/10 ,in this way, children could be in couples with 1 or 2 of us.
Along the activity children had to read the book with us and find the mistakes. Additionally we gave them some pictures that they had to put in the correct place. For example, if in one parragraph the book is talking about the Fairy God Mother obviously the picture children had to locate was the one that talked about her.
After that we wanted to do with them another activity. The activity was about frozen frames. We wanted children to do a frozen frame with the part they liked the most. But, unfortunatelly, we had no enough time so we didn't do it.
Finally, we gave each child a medal. It had a picture of Cinderella and it was written well done.
If you want to know more about another workshops you can visit Alberto Salcedo's blog because we has posted about the workshops he saw as a fairy. Here I writeyou the link where you can read it:

I hope you have liked my post,

Hi Ester,
ReplyDeleteI found very interesting this post about the "Workshop" in which you explained the activities and games that be carried out by your group of "Cinderella". I must say that the activities are very suitable to perform with children and I am sure that children had a funny time performing them with you, for example, the activity of the frozen frames.
In addition, at the break time I walked around all the groups and it was decorated so appropriated regarding your story, although all groups, generally, were very good and well worked.
We also did a similar activity to one that you performed; ours consisted of a puzzle in which the children had to order chronologically the tale pictures to complete the puzzle and in this way understand the history of the tale.
To conclude, I must say that all groups made great plays and decorations, and I really believe that children had a great time and maybe they learned new vocabulary in English.
:)
